The state of gender-smart investing in the Philippines

The Philippines is one of the most active gender-smart investing markets in Southeast Asia — but its activity has never been mapped in one place. The figures below come from the most recent regional analysis commissioned by Investing in Women.

#2
in Southeast Asia by impact deal volume — 66 deals in 2020–22, behind only Indonesia
80%
of all Southeast Asian gender-lens deals are concentrated in just three countries, including the Philippines
80%
of the country's explicit gender-lens deals were made by Philippine-based investors

Gender-lens capital deployed in the region rose roughly seven-fold over the same period, to about USD 2.5 billion.

By capital deployed the Philippines ranks fifth (USD 649M), reflecting a market built on smaller, earlier-stage tickets — about three-quarters of deals are under USD 5M.
